This past Saturday @ 12:30pm the Seabrook nuclear power plant tested the sirens.
The sirens (121 of them) are designed to familiarize people who live near Seabrook with the sound of the sirens- in the event of nuclear emergency. I can remember as a young adult the first time they tested them, it's something you never forget. They have a piercing and haunting sound. This is first time they have tested all of the alarms, in a very long time. I was home this Saturday when they started sounding and tried to capture the last few minutes of it on my cellphone. If this was not "just a test"- there would be no evacuation possible given our proximity.
